Actalent is currently hiring multiple manufacturing engineers for a premier client of ours in the Ottawa, IL area. We are ideally looking for individuals with experience working in a robotic, assembly or machining environment.
Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll design and develop advanced hydraulic systems that meet stringent standards for pressure, flow, safety, and quality. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to bring innovative ideas to life and ensure exceptional product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize hydraulic systems for new and existing products.
- Analyze system performance to meet pressure, flow, safety, and quality requirements.
- Partner with suppliers to define product and component specifications.
- Develop project plans in collaboration with engineering, marketing, and production teams.
- Coordinate implementation with production, service, and engineering teams.
- Prepare and review engineering change packages for accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize CAD tools and office software for design and documentation.
- Monitor project progress and report to stakeholders.
- Support cost‑reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Evaluate product performance and customer satisfaction, including occasional field visits and trade show participation.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or engineering.
- Expertise in mobile equipment, project management, and engineering processes.
- Proficiency in 2D schematics; AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and general computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting experience with complex hydraulic systems.
- Skilled in component selection and full system design.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Streator, IL.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $55.00/hr.
