Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Physics Teacher for our Secondary School from September.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and philosophy of the school.
  • Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting are of the highest quality and meet the varying learning and social needs of students.
  • Be flexible and adjust to the needs of the school, actively contributing to the school development plans and growth.
  • Demonstrate thorough curriculum knowledge, teach, and assess effectively.
  • Be able to teach Physics to Secondary aged students.
  • Use the student tracking and monitoring process to advance student learning and enhance professional practice in line with the school’s aspirations and priorities.
  • Take personal responsibility for professional development.
  • Effectively communicate the school’s narrative, being an ambassador for our school at all times.
  • Teaching Physics up to IGCSE level and up to IB higher level.
  • Inspire students to be passionate, curious, excited learners; set consistently high standards.
  • Develop effective approaches to learning in students; identify and support individual learning needs.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and develop teaching; plan effective teaching programmes which provide exemplary learning opportunities.
  • Use baseline data to set ambitious targets for student achievement.

Qualifications

  • Teaching Qualification QTS / PGCE.
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics.
  • Proven track record with at least two years’ teaching experience of Physics.
  • Experience of teaching A Level or IB Physics (preferred).
  • Good classroom practice and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable evidence of innovating and adapting curriculum to engage children and enable them to reach their potential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to teach different age ranges and English proficiency levels.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Desirable: Confident global citizen or willingness to become one; understands the international school environment.
