Staff Accountant

Overview

We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join Procore’s Accounting team. In this role, you’ll perform daily accounting tasks, account analysis, and month-end closing activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and support companywide financial decisions. The primary goal of this role is to help drive a smooth and timely close process while providing valuable insights to the Accounting and Finance teams.

This position reports into the Manager of Accounting and is a hybrid role based in our Heredia office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

• Support daily and monthly accounting functions to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide accounting support for corporate transactions by preparing general ledger entries, maintaining records, and gathering supplementary information for financial statements.
• Prepare and present analyses of assigned areas to management, including explanations of account fluctuations and unusual transactions.
• Analyze current accounting procedures, recommend changes, and help create efficiencies.
• Research, analyze, and interpret data to answer accounting and financial questions using spreadsheets and business data tools.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and other departments.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Provide supporting documentation to external auditors during audit processes.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with an emphasis in Accounting.
• Experience at a large U.S. accounting firm and/or in industry preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and business solutions software.
• Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial data with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
