Site Manager (IT) - HVDC Converter Stations (m/f/d)

In this role, you will oversee all construction and commissioning services and activities within the scope of Hitachi Energy’s HVDC converter stations in Italy and abroad. As Site Manager, you will manage each project phase, ensuring timely and on‑budget delivery while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and safety standards. The position requires full presence on the construction site in Italy throughout all assignments.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Act as the main interface to the customer on all contractual matters and maintain relationships with local authorities.
  • Manage manpower requirements on site, driving activities to meet contractual milestones and targets.
  • Oversee change management on site, including variation orders to subcontractors.
  • Ensure all tests are performed and accepted by the customer per contractual conditions.
  • Promote a culture of compliance with Health, Environment and Safety (HSE) requirements by all site personnel.
  • Maintain quality records, ensuring all activities meet expected standards.
  • Obtain and renew all permits, licences and requirements for compliant site execution.
  • Handle site documentation and communications with headquarters, keeping activities on schedule and within budget.
  • Serve as Site Manager or Site Representative on medium to large EPC converter station projects, complex consortium projects, equipment‑only projects, or as Deputy Site Manager on large EPC projects.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering and minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Manager on construction sites in the energy sector or similar industrial projects.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral) and fluent in Italian (written and oral).
  • Relevant and certified HSE knowledge, including courses required for the “Capo Cantiere” role in Italy.
  • Structured, organized, with strong people‑management skills, collaborative spirit, resilience, and excellent customer interface and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Italy, Europe and worldwide.
