New York University (NYU) Florence is seeking a part‑time lecturer for a course called Entrepreneurial Finance in Europe offered by the Stern School of Business (Stern).
The course is taught in English. This 3 credit course meets twice a week for approximately one hour thirty minutes each meeting. In addition to the time required for course preparation, classroom instruction and marking, the instructor is required to organize a set of weekly office hours during which the instructor will be available to meet with students. This course is taught in‑person.
There are 15 in‑person instructional weeks. The instructor role includes all preparation, delivery and assessment; the course is intellectually challenging in content and requires rigorous student assessment.
This course provides a detailed introduction to the entrepreneurial finance sector in Europe. Through an integrated academic and practitioner approach students will explore the creation, financing, growth and long‑term success / failure of European entrepreneurial firms as well as frameworks for evaluating high‑risk opportunities and structuring investment transactions. Case studies drawn from local Florence/Italy as well as other European locations will expose the students to real‑world examples in a comparative perspective. A wealth of site visits, guest lectures and other hands‑on activities give students abundant opportunities to apply ideas and theories in practice.
We are seeking candidates with 3 years of teaching courses at the undergraduate level in a degree‑granting program. A PhD or equivalent title in a relevant field is required. Experience teaching in US institutions or programs is helpful.
