Role overview

For our offices in Milan, Brescia or Costa Volpino, we are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator, Database manager expert to manage database configuration, availability and correct operations in a multi‑paradigm database environment, monitor and provide for availability and disaster recovery and will contribute to the evolution of our data stores.

This position has to cover best practices regarding Database management in a Cloud application, with the focus on data scalability, performance and availability.

Responsibilities include:

• Support and consult the development teams in the design, setup and operations of our databases following best practices of managing data in the context of a cloud applications.
• Patching the database(s), managing permissions, configuring for high availability, troubleshooting, setting‑up of metrics and sensors for monitoring.
• Oversee and influence cloud service providers in infrastructure management and maintenance. He/she also manages cloud infrastructure data migration, database application analysis and design, optimization testing, support and management of cloud infrastructure.
• Assisting in the re‑architecting database structures to address data security concerns.
• Assists developers in designing and tuning databases and queries (Liquibase, Hibernate, SQL); provides database analysis and design recommendations;

Your Profile

• University Degree in Computer Science or Information technology Engineering or comparable working experience
• 4 years of professional experience and expertise in database administration with at least 2 years of experience in database administration in the context of a cloud‑based distributed application
• Hands on experience or very good knowledge of Kubernetes
• Proven, practical knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, H2) and No‑SQL databases;
• Experienced in setup, administration and performance tuning (indexing, query optimization) of databases for a cloud application;
• Experience with data versioning systems (Liquibase, Flyway) and the scripted deployment of databases in a containerized environment
• Familiar with working in a agile environment
• Good communication skills and proficiency in Italian and English.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• SQL Server (basic understanding is sufficient)
• Prometheus & Grafana – For monitoring and observability
• Elastic Stack (ELK) – For centralized logging
• APM tools (Application Performance Monitoring)
• Basic CI/CD understanding (for DB deployments)
• Knowledge of modern DevOps principles (automation‑first, metrics‑driven, etc.)
