The Company

The business operates across multiple continents, delivering major renewable, industrial, and green metallurgy projects. The Role The HSE Manager will sit within the Italian organisation and support project execution across the region. You will lead all health, safety, and environmental activities across construction sites, engineering interfaces, and head-office functions, ensuring compliance with European and Italian HSE legislation, international standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and implementation of project HSE plans (HSE Plans, CEMP, Waste Plans, CPP, etc.)
  • Monitor HSE KPIs and submit monthly reports to senior leadership
  • Support compliance with ISO standards (45001, 14001, 50001), international guidelines (IFC, EBRD, World Bank) and internal governance
  • Provide training and coaching to site teams and contractors
  • Coordinate with Project Management and Site HSE Managers to uphold contractual and regulatory HSE requirements
  • Conduct site inspections and internal HSE audits, ensuring corrective actions are closed
  • Support tendering activities, providing HSE input on bids and client discussions
  • Share best practices, drive continuous improvement, and support incident investigations

Requirements

  • 5+ years' HSE management experience in large industrial, EPC, or energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of Italian and European HSE legislation
  • NEBOSH / equivalent certifications are preferred
  • Experience with ISO standards, ESIA documentation, and permitting
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management abilities
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and drive a strong safety culture
