Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Data Center Chief Engineer (CE) Engineering Team.
- Establish performance benchmarks, analyze, and report on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
- On‑site manage shift technicians, senior shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Oversee routine and emergency services on electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and power distribution systems (switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems).
- Plan and report on data center capacity, assist in the design/build of new facilities, and coordinate projects with IT managers and business leaders to optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Deliver quality service, meet all customer demands, manage asset and inventory, and respond to out‑of‑hours emergency calls.
- Serve as first‑level escalation point for data center facility issues and failures, train and develop Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) including night shift personnel, and maintain a primary on‑call shift rotation.
Basic Qualifications
- Technical training or degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related field (military or trade school).
- 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
- 3+ years of experience in data center or mission critical facilities (hospital, military, public safety, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of Data Center experience.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience leading a team.
