SAP Manufacturing Project Manager – Italy (Legacy to SAP Conversion)
We are seeking an experienced SAP Manufacturing Project Manager to lead a legacy system to corporate SAP standard conversion at a manufacturing site in Italy. This role is accountable for hands on delivery across planning, data migration, cutover, and go live stabilization.
This is not a PMO, advisory, or strategy position. This role owns execution on the ground and is directly responsible for plant readiness, production continuity, and successful go live.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end to end SAP conversion from a legacy ERP system to the corporate SAP S 4 HANA standard
- Own the integrated project plan across manufacturing, supply chain, and finance workstreams
- Manage SAP data migration activities including planning, execution, validation, and reconciliation
- Plan and execute SAP cutover and go live activities with minimal disruption to production
- Coordinate closely with plant leadership, operations, IT teams, and external partners
- Identify and manage risks related to downtime, business continuity, and data accuracy
- Drive user readiness, testing coordination, and hypercare support following go live
- Provide clear status reporting and timely escalation to global IT leadership
Required Experience
- 10 or more years of IT project management experience
- 7 or more years leading SAP implementations or conversions in manufacturing environments
- Proven experience migrating from a legacy ERP system to SAP
- Direct ownership of SAP cutover and go live activities
- Strong understanding of SAP manufacturing processes
- Hands on exposure to SAP PP and MM with finance integration awareness
- Experience working in industrial or automotive manufacturing environments
- Fluent English required
- Italy based candidates strongly preferred
