System Engineer – Headquarter, Milan
The System Engineer is responsible for cable systems design and engineering. The role includes defining technical solutions, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and environmental constraints, and optimizing competitiveness and feasibility. The Engineer produces technical documentation for customers and internal or subcontractor use, supports manufacturing and installation activities, and participates in customer meetings and technical presentations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare technical documentation for customers and specifications for internal or subcontractor use.
- Produce BIM‑compliant documentation following Building Information Modelling methodology.
- Attend meetings with customer representatives at all project stages to confirm requirement compliance and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop detailed costing of all materials and services and prepare technical content for customers.
- Support the preparation of formal documentation and design information for cable manufacture, accessories, and installation activities.
- Occasionally work on detailed design of specific aspects not fully defined at the offer stage, such as special parts, qualification testing coordination, and prototype design.
- Present technical solutions to customers at conferences, seminars and workshops.
- Develop new calculation procedures and computer methods to determine product and system proposals, ensuring compliance with technical and quality standards.
You are the right fit if you have/are
- Fluent in English.
- Master's degree in Electrical, Thermal, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of specific experience in electrical engineering (energy industry a plus).
- Experience managing and delivering complex projects using BIM methodology.
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications.
- Familiarity with relevant national and international standards.
- Knowledge of design calculation methods and computer solutions, with ability to develop and improve them via mathematics and programming.
- Strong communication and liaison skills with both internal teams and customer representatives.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities, target orientation, and capability to manage priorities in coordination with management.
- Fast learning and self‑commitment attitude.
- Availability for frequent short business travel.
