Are you ready to help Amazon deliver world‑class service in its transportation operations? Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities (such as checking in trailers, traffic flow, internal communications with operations, etc.), conduct yard audits, complete applicable driver training programs (Hostler, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) School, etc.), and operate multiple vehicle types based on business need (including but not limited to hostlers and day cabs) to support Amazon’s transportation network. Responsibilities
- Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations. Follow and enforce safety measures and policies to all who operate vehicles on behalf of Amazon and those who enter the yard, including vendors and senior team members.
- Perform various functions within the yard, support site operations teams, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers, as needed, to ensure all trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects and to maintain workflow for buildings.
- Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
- Learn Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and comply with company policies, procedures of those DOT regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, trailer designations, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.).
- Complete driver vehicle inspection reports on equipment and notify managers of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
- Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks at appropriate times in compliance with Amazon policy and federal and state regulations, adhere to yard safety policies, obey all applicable traffic laws, and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.
- Support the business on an as needed basis by serving as a peer trainer and/or working at nearby site locations within the area.
- Drive, maneuver, and load/unload a truck using approved equipment (pallet jack, etc.).

Qualifications
- Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
- High School or equivalent diploma.
- Candidate must be 21 years of age or older and able to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
- Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach and ascend/descend stairs.
- Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
- Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and outside vendors.
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Completion of Career Choice Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Course.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $49,920/year in our lowest geographic market up to $60,320/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
