Are you driven by problem solving? Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? Look no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with electrical and hydraulic competence.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on expert, who will be responsible for performing service, maintenance and repairs on MacGregor marine equipment, and third-party products such as RoRo, Crane and Hatch Covers. Your focus on quality and safety will be essential to keeping our customers\' vessels moving and hitting our service goals.

This position, based in Genoa, involves frequent travel to client sites, vessels, and shipyards throughout the Mediterranean region. Flexibility, including availability for overtime and weekend work, is key.

More tasks and responsibilities

• Diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical systems, mechanical and hydraulics
• Supervise and perform service activities such as inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions
• Identify service and spares sales opportunities and communicate them to the line manager to support all activities
• Provide information and write reports as required
• Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Comply with all relevant safety and quality requirements according to MacGregor

What you’ll need to succeed

You have a background in the merchant, offshore or maritime industry, with a primary focus on electrical or hydraulic equipment. Knowledge and experience in basic mechanical is a plus. We are looking for a communicative, technically skilled individual who is passionate about problem-solving and committed to customer satisfaction. You are goal-oriented and have a reliable working style. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands-on work and thrive in a collaborative, multicultural environment.

Ideally you have

• Technical education within the electrical, control and automation field. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in equivalent position
• Previous experience in the maritime/shipping industry
• Previous experience with RoRo equipment is a must
• Valid driver\'s license is essential
• Fluent in Italian both written and spoken while proficient in English

The position is part of our Global Services Division, located in Genova, Italy. You will report to the Operation Supervisor.
