We are looking for a new Product Manager, who will be completely focused on our Laboratory Equipment line. Having a dedicated Product Manager for this important part of our business will allow us to consolidate on market and competitive intelligence at one place and ultimately driving growth more aggressively.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Product Manager Element Analyzer, with the aim to building a solid and strategic PM Team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Technology savvy. The Product Manager has to understand and interact with customers and understand their workflows, particularly in the life science area
  • Business Acumen. Investment in new products goes along with return-on-investment considerations
  • Flair for Marketing. Partner with the marketing team to develop the value proposition
  • Analytical Capabilities. Extract data from market reports, add VoC, compile all market intelligence and draw the right conclusions
  • You have an analytical approach. Your business proposals are backed up by solid VoC and thorough financial considerations
  • Presentation. Able to sell “his product” to sales, talking to key accounts, presenting at webinars
  • Communication. Convince the organization based on solid work and rational, generate followership

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIE S:

The Product Manager plays a key role in the innovation process:

  • LEAD the definition phase: Collect market intelligence, collect VoC and develop together with R&D a solid business plan for new product ideas.
  • In development phase counterpart for R&D, organize beta-test, ensure that cost targets are met, and specifications are not compromised.
  • LEAD in the launch phase: Develop the launch plan together with marketing develop training material and deliver the training to sales. Together with Operations ensure product availaity.
  • In the retirement phase eliminate products when new successors are launched

Other responsabilities are:

  • Monitor global sales by territory and identify areas of under penetration or areas of improvement. Propose solutions to sales and support in execution
  • Support sales in training events
  • Maintain a personal network to researcher using LEs which can inspire new product ideas
  • Maintain a personal network to key accounts in close collaboration with sales
  • Support Marketing in content generation and in collecting competitive information
  • Contribute to the annual strategy development process and indicate long-term opportunities for the Laboratory Equipment product

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Ideally, the suitablecandidate has both a technical/scientific background and a business background
  • Technical/Scientific: Minimum bachelor preferably in biochemistry, biology, microbiology or biology
  • Business: MBA or practical experience in previous jobs with commercial responsibilities
  • Worked 3-5 years in a similar industry, focused on laboratory equipment
  • Understands and experienced the business model selling products globally throughdealers
  • Experience as Product Manager (or Product Specialist) is of course a big plus. Adjacent roles who interacted with Product Management are considered as well (R&D, Sales, Marketing)
