Job Title: Site Manager – European Combustion Research Center

Fives Combustion BU is seeking a Head of Combustion Research Center F/H to manage its industrial combustion lab in Piacenza (Italy). Fives Pillard and Fives ITAS, subsidiaries of the Fives Group, are market leaders in burners and combustion systems. They design and manufacture equipment for the mineral industry, energy sector, industrial drying, and O&G. We provide complete, reliable solutions tailored to our customers' needs worldwide. We are currently looking for a manager responsible for our European combustion center, focusing on developing future burners and low-carbon energies.

Responsibilities include:

• Combustion Test Planning and Execution: Plan and conduct tests per R&D programs, ensuring safety, technical specifications, and budget adherence. Ensure test reliability through proper instrumentation and measurements. Manage resources and adapt facilities as needed.
• Product Development and Technical Support: Participate in product development, propose improvements, and validate with tests. Keep abreast of technological advances. Provide technical support during the initial deployment of new products.
• Center and HSE Management: Manage engineers, technicians, and workers (2-4 people). Ensure compliance with QHSE policies and local regulations.

Required competencies:

• Over 10 years of solid experience in thermal industrial sites or labs, preferably in combustion; experience with burners is an asset.
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and combustion.
• Fluent in Italian and English; French is a plus.
• Leadership, autonomy, rigor, curiosity, initiative, analytical skills, and clear communication. Reporting to the BU Combustion R&D Director.
