Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD position at the Department of Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering, University of Cagliari, within a government-supported doctoral program. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team focused on the development of advanced materials for sustainable electronics.
Project Overview
The PhD project will focus on the development and characterization of conductive and biodegradable pastes and inks, based on nanostructured and/or bidimensional materials. The research will investigate different formulations and preparation methods to optimize electrical and mechanical properties under various processing conditions.
Thermal (thermogravimetric and calorimetric) and rheological analyses will be performed to understand the influence of composition and manufacturing parameters. Structural and morphological characterization will be carried out using electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and IR spectroscopy, to establish correlations between structure and performance.
The formulations developed and studied may find applications in areas such as flexible electronics, sensors, and other emerging technologies.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation relevant to material characterization.
Application Instructions
The official call for applications will be published in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, interested candidates are encouraged to express their interest by contacting the research team at the addresses provided and submitting a CV detailing academic qualifications and relevant experience related to the topic of the PhD position.
