Senior Scientist

Xplore (www.xplore.ltd) is a high-tech company based near Naples (ITA) offering comprehensive scientific and technology services linked to the development and application of High Throughput Experimentation (HTE) techniques in organometallic chemistry, with special emphasis on olefin polymerization catalysis.

We are seeking a brilliant and highly motivated Senior Scientist to strengthen our team and provide HTE services for polyolefin catalysts, as well as broaden our service portfolio to other organometallic reactions (catalyst synthesis, hydrogenations, CO2 (co)polymerization, etc.). The new profile will have to identify/propose new research areas, identifying technology gaps and taking care of the scientific validation and market promotion.

Your responsibility will be:

• Lead projects both as Scientific Services as well as of R&D type
• Hands-on utilization of our HTE platforms (PPR and CM3)
• Interaction with the customer as well as with academic partners
• Supervision of technicians
• Data analysis and interpretation
• Delivering technical presentations/reports
• Represent the company at Conferences/Fairs/Symposiums

Required skills, competences, and abilities:

• Solid academic background in organometallic chemistry/polymer science/ (PhD with minimum 2yrs of academic or industrial experience)
• Experience with the preparation of organometallic compounds and/or catalyst supportation (and related characterization techniques)
• Solid experience with the execution and interpretation of NMR analysis (1H and 13C) of discrete molecules as well as of polymers
• Knowledge of olefin polymerization catalysis (preferred)
• Familiarity with HTS tools and methods, including the use of robotics and automation (preferred)
• Excellent project management and organization skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
