Let’s Talk about the Role

You will start by being enrolled in FieldCore’s Field Engineering Program (FEP). During the FEP, you will develop technical expertise, lean thinking, and leadership skills through in-person and online training, as well as on-the-job learning from experienced Technical Field Advisors.

You will gain hands-on experience and grow your career while traveling to provide power to communities. Upon successful graduation, you will be eligible for a Technical Field Advisor position working on Steam Turbines.

As a Technical Field Advisor, you will manage site activities, including planning, organizing, and monitoring resources such as labor, tools, and technical assistance.

You will make decisions, resolve complex issues, and perform hands-on maintenance of Steam Turbines and some Gas Turbines at customer power plants.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Maintain a strong safety mindset, ensuring work meets GE safety standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor site activities.
  • Lead on-site systems and equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and troubleshooting requests.
  • Provide technical instructions and ensure work adheres to company standards.
  • Write technical reports, job status updates, and customer reports promptly and accurately.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through quality work.
  • Perform walk-downs to verify contractor and personnel compliance.
  • Manage aftermarket upgrades at the site.

Special Role Requirements

  • Willingness to travel extensively overseas and to various project sites.
  • Flexibility to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to spend significant time away from home for training and field assignments.

Skills for Success

You should be fluent in English, with strong technical skills and a passion for engineering. Additionally, you should have:

  • A strong ownership and work ethic.
  • A desire to learn and solve problems.
  • A positive attitude and good communication skills with internal and external customers.

A formal engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) is preferred but not mandatory; experience and achievements are highly valued.
