Vernay Italia is seeking for a highly motivated Automation Specialist for its location in Asti with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills to support and optimize the industrial automation systems within our production plants.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to technological innovation and will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Program and configure PLCs (Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff or equivalent), HMI, SCADA, and other industrial control systems.
  • Analyze and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Work with the maintenance team to diagnose and resolve faults in automated equipment.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and system integrators.
  • Perform routine maintenance on assembly machines.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, using electrical/electronic diagnostic tools, precision instruments, and both manual and automatic equipment.
  • Execute wiring, disassembly, and assembly of components, devices, and mechanical or electrical assemblies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations.

Education, Experience and Skills Required

  • Degree in Automation, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in similar roles within automated industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, and industrial systems.
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Familiarity with technical standards (CE marking, Machinery Directive, electrical safety).
  • Good command of technical English.
  • Strong teamwork, analytical, and goal-oriented skills.
