Role Description
As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will support the overall operation of the Housekeeping Department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest service across rooms, suites, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.
This role requires exceptional leadership, an outstanding eye for detail, and the ability to uphold the property’s luxury standards while coaching and motivating a diverse, multicultural team.
Operational Management
- Overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas meet or exceed LQA and hotel luxury standards
- Conducting regular inspections of rooms, corridors, and public spaces, addressing deficiencies and ensuring corrective actions
- Coordinating daily room assignments, workload distribution, and scheduling for attendants, housemen, and supervisors
- Ensuring timely and efficient room turnaround, especially during peak occupancy and VIP arrivals
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training of housekeeping staff
- Providing coaching, motivation, and performance feedback to enhance service quality and productivity
- Promoting a positive, collaborative, and multicultural work environment aligned with the hotel’s values
- Assisting in implementing SOPs and training team members to ensure consistency
Guest Service & Quality Assurance
- Responding swiftly to guest requests, preferences, and issues, ensuring successful service recovery when necessary
- Collaborating closely with Front Office and Guest Relations teams regarding room status and VIP expectations
- Maintaining high guest satisfaction scores related to cleanliness and housekeeping service
Inventory, Supplies & Budget Support
- Assisting in managing inventory of linens, amenities, uniforms, and cleaning supplies
- Monitoring usage, reducing waste, and ensuring cost‑effective ordering while maintaining luxury standards
- Supporting the Executive Housekeeper in budget preparation and cost‑control initiatives
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and environmental regulations
- Promoting safe working practices and correct use of equipment and chemicals
- Participating in regular safety and sustainability training and initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in housekeeping leadership roles within a luxury hotel; experience in resort or island properties is an advantage
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for luxury hospitality
- Ability to manage a large multicultural team in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Italian and English required; additional languages are a plus
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a guest‑focused mindset
Working Conditions
- Based on San Clemente Island; daily boat transfers required as part of operations
