Team Leader (Supervisor), Events & Planning

Responsibilities

  • Team Leader role is responsible for the successful management and delivery of multiple, simultaneous, and complex projects on time and on budget for a wide range of contracted and non-contracted clients, across various different industry sectors. The role includes maintaining effective day to day contact with clients for the delivery of live, virtual and hybrid projects, as well as communicating and managing a team of planners.
  • Cross collaboration is required with our teams in multifunctional areas within the business in addition to strong alignment globally with teams and process.
  • The role of the team Team Leader will be 25% team management and 75% working on their own projects.
  • Lead day to day operations for a team of meeting and event planners responsible for the creation, management and execution of various types and complexities of meetings and events both live and virtual.
  • Directly lead and manage the successful delivery of meetings and event projects.
  • Coordinate and facilitate basic management approaches for work scheduling, prioritizing, and process execution for day-to-day work.
  • Maintain communication with event and planning clients and account management teams to ensure awareness of program progress, key changes, and gaps in delivery with enough time to develop strategies to address any issues.
  • Drive change and employee engagement through effective communications.
  • Ensure team's adherence to SLAs and metrics.
  • Support and drive team adherence to manage the delivery of scope creep on projects with close attention and focus to the Statement of Work set out for each project.
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing clients to encourage account growth.
  • Monitor activity and trends to provide ongoing performance feedback for delivery of excellent customer experience.
  • Drive Talent Management / HR processes including but not limited to performance reviews, development and training needs, performance improvement, and disciplinary actions.
  • Use data to monitor team performance and trends, creating action plans as necessary to ensure sustained performance.
  • Support with RFP requirements and presentations to clients as needed.
  • Implement and support management with new and creative process improvements, identify opportunities for productivity and reduced costs, and ensure ongoing customer service excellence.
  • Ensure costings for service delivery are clearly defined and managed profitably from conception to reconciliation.
  • Be an ambassador for the CWT Meetings & Events brand able to enhance and uphold our reputation in the industry.
  • Flexibility with international and domestic travel for internal and external meetings and events as and when required.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years meetings and events experience
  • 2+ years project leadership experience
  • Strong understanding, experience, and knowledge of Virtual and Hybrid projects with platform capabilities and project planning
  • Good understanding, experience, and knowledge of AV / Production
  • IT literate with strong experience of using Microsoft Office and database tools
  • Language skills are preferable
  • Fluent English essential
  • CVENT knowledge preferable

  • Strong knowledge in conflict resolution, leadership strategies, managing team results, client engagement, and the business of meetings & events.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Event Management specific technology
