Overview
Documentation Engineer Professional - Taranto. Full-Time role within the Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization. This organization is a co-located & process engineering team focused on developing and supporting the organization with subject matter experts (SMEs). It embeds engineering skills directly into the manufacturing value stream to enable faster decision-making and deeper process ownership and knowledge, under a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Creation and updating documentation to Shopfloor / Logistic teams (workers, quality and logistic teams) within Handling & Logistic operations.
- Updated documentation is always available where needed.
- Be loyal to the documentation principles described.
- Engage in collecting feedback from shop floors and logistic teams on the function and quality of the documentation delivered.
- Perform internal quality checks of the documentation.
- Perform internal maturity checks of the documentation against our documented criteria.
- Keep stakeholders up to date on documentation lead time.
- Develop training material for reading / use of the documentation pack.
- Collaborate with documentation specialists from other teams and share lessons learned.
- Contribute to building a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
- Focus on modern documentation systems and materials including process vision, laser systems and other digital enabling systems.
- Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
- Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality.
Education
- Bachelor engineer or equivalent
- GB lean
- Courses within Technical writing or communication
Experience
- About 6 years of experience in similar roles as described above
Worked with
- Create process flow
- Establish and maintain work instructions (paper or digital)
- Validation of own work
- Participation in development of Handling & Logistic documentation
- Experience in a data-driven organization
- Optimization and standardization within manufacturing documentation using the toolbox
Important skills
- Proficient writing and communication skills: ability to simplify complex information
- Technical skills related to Logistic documentation, transportation and storage systems, production processes, or software systems; ability to translate technical jargon into user-friendly language
- Attention to detail; accuracy in documentation supporting operations or compliance
- Willingness to spend time in the factory environment as required
- Data-Driven Decision Making
- Use of tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams to identify and solve production issues
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and highly organized
