Job Role

Private Client and Tax - Immigration

Role

We are looking for a very organised and flexible Early Trainee or Intern to join our Global Mobility team within the Private Client and Tax Department, in Milan.

Responsibilities

  • Performing legal research on immigration and citizenship law and employment law
  • Assisting clients during meetings with immigration offices (Consular offices, questura, Comune, etc.)
  • Drafting documents linked to immigration / citizenship requests and employment matters
  • Assisting in preparing pitches and tenders and in aspects of business development
  • Assisting with client events
  • Producing accurate, high-quality work quickly and efficiently, using the firm's software packages and document management systems
  • Upon request, preparing first drafts of terms of engagement letters; using electronic file opening, ensuring anti-money laundering requirements are adhered to and requesting necessary Know Your Client documentation
  • Providing effective and proactive communication with clients, legal staff and other support staff, organising meetings, answering the phone, taking messages, managing e‑mail, etc.
  • General administrative duties

Qualifications

  • Excellent academics in Law
  • Final‑year student, eligible for “pratica anticipata” or “tirocinio”, available full time
  • Fluent Italian and English communication skills are mandatory (English proficiency equal to a C1 is a must)
  • Strong interest in global mobility and employment law
  • Enthusiastic and engaged attitude with excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Teamwork is vital together with the ability to work alongside colleagues in our overseas offices
  • Strong IT skills (e.g. Word & Excel)
