You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key Responsibilities

• On-site management of hardware lifecycle for IT infrastructure.
• Maintain and upgrade data center infrastructure as part of the Operations team.
• Install, remove, and repair server racks, IT hardware, and network components.
• Respond to emergent situations affecting operations and support scheduled maintenance.
• Resolve problems in compliance with customer service level agreements and act as first line for hardware troubleshooting.
• Participate in on‑call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change‑management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
• Attend team meetings for metrics analysis and progress on daily/weekly goals.
• Apply policies and procedures concerning safety and security within the department.
• Document root cause analyses of operational issues and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.
• Mentor less experienced team members as appropriate.

A Day in the Life

• Support infrastructure equipment (racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables, etc.).
• Follow ticket‑based instructions to install/remove server racks and fix hardware.
• Perform on‑call duties and participate in data‑center operations.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Involve in site management and maintain tidiness of operation areas (5S).
• Work rotating 10‑hour shifts with one‑hour breaks—four days on, three days off—shifts at 8:00‑18:00, 12:00‑22:00, or 21:45‑08:15.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of data‑center experience and general knowledge of PC/server hardware.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Linux/Windows systems and basic networking.
• Ability to work non‑standard hours (10‑hour shifts with 1‑hour breaks; 4 days on, 3 days off, with hours 8:00‑18:00, 12:00‑22:00, 21:45‑08:15).
• Experience with ticketing systems, escalation procedures, and data‑center facilities.
• Knowledge of maintenance windows and change‑management.
• English and Japanese communication skills.
• Linux/networking certifications (RHCSA, CCNA, or equivalent) and scripting skills (Bash, Python).
• BA/BS in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
