Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks. The developments cover the railways applications. The position is based in Genoa IT.

Accountabilities

• Detailed requirements definition for software components / systems
• Design and implementation of software components
• Verification and testing of developed software
• Release and support of delivered software components

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Knowledge of software development methodologies (agile methodologies Test Driven Development Continuous Integration DevOps)
• Object Oriented Design and Programming
• Knowledge of the following programming languages: JavaScript, Python, C / C++, Java, RUST
• Knowledge of Linux operating system
• From 3 up to 5 years of experience

Desired Skills / Knowledge

• Knowledge of containerization technologies specifically Docker
• Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, Oracle, Redis, MongoDB)
• Knowledge of Railway Traffic Management domain
• Ability to work in a team environment

Education / Qualifications

• Masters degree / Bachelors degree (Engineering Computer Science)

Languages

• Good Knowledge of English (written & spoken)
