AUTOMATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Overview

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated AUTOMATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Naples or Genoa, Italy.

Mission

Contribute to the delivery of a software fulfilling input requirements (Functional, Performances, Quality), based on the most efficient modular design managing the best compromise between Budget, Schedule, Risks, Reuse and standardization for future.

Responsibilities

• Support the proper requirements management for all the phases of the software lifecycle
• Contribute to the design and the implementation of a complete solution (Modules, documentation and tools)
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
• Contribute to the correct operation of the software on applicable platforms
• Contribute to provide the proper level of support to other functional units (RAMS, Verification, Test & Commissioning, etc.)
• Contribute to the application of common methodologies, technical solutions and best practices in coherence with the Development function

Requirements

Education required : Master / Bachelor degree in Computer / Electronics / Telecommunications / Automation Engineering

Experience : At least 3 years in development of web applications for both front end (client side) and back end (server side)

Qualifications / Skills : Creative, flexible and self-motivated; quick and continuous learner; time and quality management; analytical thinking; general programming skills; software design, debugging, documentation, testing; problem solving; strong team working attitude in an international environment; software development fundamentals; software development process; software requirements

Language : English : upper intermediate level required

Knowledge : UI / UX design; strong background in web application development; front-end : HTML5, CSS, JavaScript; at least one modern front-end framework (preferred Angular); back-end : at least one framework (preferred Spring Boot and Node.js); server-side languages (Java, Python, C# / .Net, etc.); unit and integration testing, continuous integration; SQL and NOSQL databases; microservice pattern (preferred Docker); Linux

Travel : Willingness to travel up to 50%
