Join AWS Hardware Engineering to design, deliver, and operate AWS cloud offerings that enable high performance and scalability in AI/ML and HPC workloads. Work on server designs for Amazon’s web services with a focus on frugality and operational excellence, solving challenging technology problems and building high-quality components for AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the implementation of your work with direct impact on AWS platforms and bottom line; partner with engineers across the company to deliver next-generation AWS platforms.
• Act as a technical leader solving complex architectural problems; decompose large server system testability, reliability, and diagnosis challenges into actionable tasks and deliverables.
• Utilize a combination of hardware, software, system designs, x86 architecture, processes, diagnosis, and operations knowledge to build scalable and reliable solutions.
• Drive high quality and reliability into future designs for AWS Accelerated server solutions for AWS Cloud; collaborate with cross-functional teams (SDEs, SDETs, Hardware Engineers, TPMs, Managers, Principals).

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of programming with at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, PowerShell, Ruby).
• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 4+ years of systems development in an IT or data center environment.
• 4+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 2+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.
• Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software solutions in production.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of development/programming/scripting language experience (Python/Java/Bash/Perl).
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure that has been delivered to customers.
