Overview

The company is a global leader in gene delivery products and services, including vector design and optimization, vector cloning, virus packaging, library construction and screening, stable cell line generation, and GMP manufacturing of clinical-grade plasmids, mRNAs, proteins and viruses.

This award-winning platform is widely used by researchers worldwide and has become an industry standard for its rich functionalities, extensive experimental validations, and easy-to-use graphical user interface. VectorBuilder offers a comprehensive portfolio covering virtually all gene delivery needs from bench to bedside.

We are currently seeking an Account Manager to oversee the Southern Europe area to join our team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related field
  • Fluent in Italian and English (both verbal and written); Spanish and French are strong assets
  • High self-motivation and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Confidence and ease in engaging with clients in both academic and commercial settings

Preferred but not required

  • Experience in account management or scientific sales
  • Background in pharmaceutical / biotechnology industries (2+ years)
  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques (e.g. cloning, virus packaging)
  • Proven ability to communicate complex scientific topics clearly
  • Familiarity with CRM systems like HubSpot

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and grow accounts within Southern Europe
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with research institutions and key accounts, acting as their main point of contact through regular on-site visits and virtual engagements (meetings, presentations, product showcases)
  • Identify new opportunities via direct outreach (e.g. cold calls / emails)
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through professional and responsive support
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Director, internal teams, and fellow account managers to align on strategy, share insights, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of VectorBuilder’s offerings and communicate scientific solutions effectively
  • Inclusive of quarterly performance commission.
