Job Overview

I help organizations get the best out of open source products like GeoServer, MapStore, GeoNode and GeoNetwork. We are looking for a DevOps engineer with a background in Linux systems administration, operations, and web application development to move our geospatial applications to the cloud, scaling and strengthening workflow and business growth.

In this central role you will influence architectural decisions, implement and manage cloud deployments, script automations (Bash, Python, etc.), write code (primarily Python) and help transition our core product to continuous delivery. This is a role that will grow significantly with the business.

We offer the possibility to work remotely in Italy or outside Italy. Preference is given to candidates able to work in our office or at least in our time zone.

Main Responsibilities

Creation of continuous delivery chains using Jenkins and other DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab Pipelines)
Creation and analytics dashboards based on Elastic Stack
Creation of monitoring dashboard
Coordinate with the development team to improve delivery processes and deployment robustness
Management and monitoring of continuous delivery processes for clients
Play the Q&A Engineer role when needed
Monitor quality and SLA levels for production deployments; manage and improve support procedures as needed

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in a systems admin or operations role
DevOps experience with cloud (mostly AWS, Azure, and VMware) architecture and systems operation
Experience with Docker
Experience with Kubernetes or similar technologies
Experience managing high traffic and spikes is desirable
Experience with Python or similar scripting is desirable
Experience with Jenkins is desirable
Experience with the Elastic Stack is a plus
Experience with at least one of Chef/Puppet/Ansible is a plus
Passion for the internet, open-source, computing, and devices; keen to push the envelope and develop elegant solutions, continuously improving skills and projects
Comfortable working independently while being part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, dialogue, development, learning, and growth
Ability to solve big systemic problems and look beyond surface to understand root causes for long‑term solutions
Open to developing new ideas, contributing expertise, and building teamwork
Analytical of product requirements, managing tasks, and partnering with teammates to meet deadlines
