Overview

Gallagher Re Italy seeks a highly motivated and skilled Actuary to join our team, potentially involved in Catastrophe Analytics projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine actuarial expertise with catastrophe risk modeling to support clients’ risk management and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement actuarial models to evaluate insurance and reinsurance risks, supporting the design of reinsurance strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver detailed analyses and decision‑making support.
  • Partner with the Catastrophe Analytics team to assess risks associated with catastrophic events.
  • Contribute to the structuring, evaluation, and optimization of reinsurance programs.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and regulatory developments impacting insurance risks.
  • Automate processes and develop analytical tools using programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including brokers, analysts, and other actuaries, to deliver tailored solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2‑5 years of actuarial experience, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Advanced knowledge of actuarial tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and experience in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or equivalents.
  • Familiarity with actuarial software and modeling tools (e.g., RMS, Verisk) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
