Senior Supply Chain Manager, SWA Capacity Planning — Job ID: 3053148 | Amazon.com Services LLC

The Planning Supply Chain Manager solves questions of how to make shipping services best in class and how to offer them to more customers. This position works across functions in a cross‑functional environment with Operations, Product, and Tech teams to define needs, goals, and execution plans to create a world class transportation network. They maintain and report up to date statistics, management reports, and analysis, facilitate information flow between stakeholders, and resolve issues impacting customer experience and business continuity. The role requires research and querying internal tools, timely decision making, and strong data analysis to drive Customer Experience without compromising time.

In this role, you will own strategic Amazon Shipping growth and business relationships to optimize cost and profitability. You will collaborate with partner teams across supply chain functions such as transportation, engineering, launch, finance, and operational planning, and with business teams like Revenue Management, Business Development, and Commercial. This high visibility role involves regular interaction with leadership and critical decision making. You will develop and implement scalable solutions to support new reverse logistics volume streams and integrate these volumes into Last/Mile and Middle/Mile planning.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with partner teams across supply chain functions like transportation, engineering, launch, finance, and operational planning (under the roof and on-road)
  • Leverage historical data to create forward looking planning models in partnership with business teams
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to work through difficult challenges
  • Provide forecast and collaborate with downstream & upstream stakeholders, such as AMZL and NASC, to plan for capacity
  • Collaborate with AMZL and NASC to drive capacity decisions such as hiring, vehicle procurement and onboarding Delivery Service Partners
  • Improve demand forecast and route planning accuracy
  • Drive commingling opportunities to improve shipments per route and overall cost per unit
  • Integrate reverse‑logistics demand with existing Amazon Shipping Operations demand
  • Present data‑driven proposals and plans to Sr. Leadership
  • Travel 5% each quarter as required (Quarterly offsites)

The Demand Planning & Forecasting Supply Chain Manager operates in an ambiguous environment. We are building something brand new, balancing big thinking with tactical execution. This role requires direct analyses and partnership with stakeholders across Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • 5+ years of supply chain experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demand Planning, Logistics, and Capacity Planning experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
