Responsibilities
- Promote and grow the Air and Sea freight services (both imports and exports)
- Client analysis on gross margin, volume, and profitability as well as client management with respect to handling complaints
- Collections: Payments and TDS and updating the CRM system
- Cold calling, quoting and close new business, and maintaining a healthy pipeline of customers / accounts
- Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
- Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs - from various sources
- Generate new leads, identify, and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
- Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
- Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals
- Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentation developing new ideas / strategies
- Proactively source and qualify new business opportunities / leads via inbound and outbound marketing efforts
- Travel weekly in Italy to meet clients
Skills, knowledge and expertise
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- In-depth knowledge of Shipping Line, Freight Forwarding products such as Sea / Air Import & Exports, Project Cargo, ODC, Ro-Ro, Break Bulk / Commodities
- Relevant experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry and good knowledge of Inco Terms and Operations
- Successful track record in B2B sales and negotiation
- Working experience with sales techniques
- Fluent Italian and English skills, both written and verbal
