Role Purpose

Within Fixed and Mobile Access Operation, this role is managing Vodafone Italy RAN operation & maintenance tasks within the RAN 2nd level support team. The 2nd level support engineer is responsible for troubleshooting RAN issues, applying procedures and changes to restore service, supporting remotely field engineers on complex troubleshooting, managing 3rd level vendor support, following up problem management with vendors, executing planned works including configuration changes or software upgrades on RAN nodes. The role requires technical expertise on RAN technologies, and knowledge of incident management, problem management and change management processes, as well as security policies concerning user access management, patching and hardening of RAN nodes.

  • Trouble‑shooting issues in RAN technologies
  • Service restoration in case of issues
  • Phone support to field engineers
  • Manage third‑party support services
  • Executing planned works
  • Maintenance windows activities
  • On‑call service

Who You Are

  • Strong mobile network architecture knowledge
  • Technical skills on Huawei RAN Node, RAN Huawei Technology, BSC6910
  • Good time management and prioritisation
  • Knowledge of incident management, problem management and change management processes
  • Aptitude for analysing problems, discovering innovative solutions and hunger for technical knowledge
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust and rapport
  • Excellent English language skills
