Software Development Manager, Prime Video X-Ray Client Experiences

Overview

Software Development Manager, Prime Video X-Ray Client Experiences — lead a software team responsible for building scalable, reliable services that deliver live sports, movies, series, seasons, and episodes to millions of customer devices. You will brainstorm, design, and launch green field features and client experiences across platforms and geographies, while engineering the next generation of applications across our ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Lead a software team responsible for building scalable, reliable services that can serve millions of users
• Hire, manage, mentor and grow a high performance team of Software Engineers
• Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout product life cycles; influence software engineering best practices for your team and own operational metrics
• Work with business leaders and product managers to define product requirements
• Influence and adopt industry standards for building client experiences
• Prioritize, communicate, maintain, and execute road maps, project plans, and commitments
• Work with engineers to define technical requirements and architect and implement best-in-class solutions in an agile manner
• Build and maintain world-class customer experience and operational excellence for your deliverables
• Fluency with GenAI based software development practices

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of experience leading development of applications backed by AWS services or other cloud technologies
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness
