EXPERT SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Job Description
As Expert Software Engineer you will be part of Eniquantic, collaborating with physicists and electronics engineers to realize a quantum computer based on neutral atoms. Your role focuses on developing software that controls the experimental apparatus—experimental data acquisition and processing, remote control of instrumentation via client‑server protocols, and the GUI for monitoring and operating the apparatus.
Main Activities
- Software development for fast acquisition and processing of experimental data from optical sensors and camera images
- Software development and maintenance for the remote control and integration of experimental instrumentation via server‑client protocols and API interfaces
- GUI development for monitoring, diagnosis, and operation of the experimental apparatus
- Management of the software development projects, including maintenance and documentation
- Collaboration with the quantum and electronic engineering teams to define requirements and develop control software
Required Features
- MSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- At least 5 years of experience (possibly including a PhD program) in software development within academic or industrial research projects
- Experience with software development and versioning using Git or similar platforms (e.g., GitLab)
- Professional knowledge of Python and its main libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, etc.)
- Knowledge of C/C++ and standard libraries
- Experience with GUI design and development frameworks such as Qt, JavaScript, etc.
- Teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment with autonomy and proactivity
- Professional knowledge and use of the English language
