Purpose of the role:

The Payroll Expert with Italian will be part of the Global HR Service Delivery (GHR SD) team.

An experienced Payroll Officer that is a subject matter expert in the Italian Payroll as well as acting as the first point of contact for guidance around operational aspects of the team’s tasks. This includes all areas of employment taxation, regulatory and statutory reporting as well as overseeing and ensuring appropriate governance of operation tasks.

In the role you willneed to work independently, but in tandem support various teams and projects as they arise. You will act as a key liaison and go to person for any questions or issues related to the Italian payroll and HR Operations.

Role will be based in Poland/Cracow or Italy/Milan and supporting Italy and other EMEA locations. You will report to the Payroll & HR Operations EMEA Hub Manager and the Country Head of Italy who has oversight for few European locations.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Deliver Payroll & HR Operations processes in Italy and other EMEA locations, in line with local legislative requirements including relevant documents handling & sign off

  • Engage and cooperate with key stakeholders, subject matter experts and operational areas to develop and build strong partnerships across the Company

  • Manage employee queries related to Italy Payroll and HR Operations processes within agreed SLA

  • Act as a local escalation first point of contact for all Payroll & HR Operations queries related with Italy staff

  • Prepare and distribute standard and ad hoc HR reports within specified guidelines

  • Ensure and monitor the compliance of maintaining data privacy in line with global and local requirements across GHR Shared Services and act in an advisory role when looking at legislative changes and trends to assess and impact future strategy

  • Take accountability for the continuous improvement in EMEA HUB Team based on observations and input; implementation of new ideas on streamlining of the processes,

Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Italian (Italian language min. CELI 4 level required)

  • University degree - HR/finance/accounting preferred

  • 5 or more years’ experience in Italian payroll operations position with a strong understanding of best practice around controls regulations tax compliance and working with outsourced providers

  • Excellent knowledge of Italian Labor law, with special focus on Personal Income Tax and Social Security regulations and HR Lifecycle documents digitization. Time and Attendance rules in Italy knowledge will be an asset

  • Knowledge of financial institutions Collective Bargaining agreement CCNL will be an additional asset

  • Payroll & HR Operations subject matter expertise with in-house payroll processing model will be an asset

  • Very Good Excel skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Very good organizational and communication skills

  • Working knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems required

  • Must be detail oriented and deadline driven; ability to work in a fast-paced, structured and team-based environment, as well as independently

  • Ability to multitask, ensure accuracy and execute against pre-determined deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills (ability to prioritize)

  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Internal teams
