About the Role

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment. In addition to developing your skills, you will mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo‑eyes, relays, and more.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship across all of the Amazon Operations facility.
  • Track and store department inventory.
  • Move up to 49 lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Typical Shifts

  • Front Half Day Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Hours: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM with half‑hour break.
  • Back Half Day Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Hours: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM with half‑hour break.
  • Front Half Night Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Hours: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM with half‑hour break.
  • Back Half Night Shift: 4 days on, 3 days off. Hours: 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM with half‑hour break.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience.
  • 2+ years of repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment experience.
  • 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience.
  • 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience.
  • 1+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, or High School CTE in related field.
  • 1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards according to OEM and safety standards.
  • 1+ years of programmable logic controls (PLC) programs experience.
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within Amazon RME.
  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $73,840/year up to $73,840/year. The National base pay ranges from $58,760/year in our lowest geographic market up to $78,104/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary. Amazon may provide equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation.
