As a Data Center Facility Engineer you will oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure for AWS Data Centers. You will work alongside a diverse team of software, hardware, network, supply‑chain, security and operations specialists. The role demands a self‑managed, proactive individual who strives for operational excellence in a fast‑changing environment.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards, encouraging a world‑class safety culture and taking ownership of safety initiatives.
- Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment including UPS, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFDs and transformers.
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements.
- Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log-taking (temperature, voltage, current).
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Perform manual handling and lifting of equipment as required.
- Work shifts (morning, late and night) and participate in on‑call rotation for off‑duty emergency calls.

Basic Qualifications
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, controls) or key electrical competencies and theory.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of data center engineering operations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or equivalent engineering.
