Storage Engineer

Overview

The Green Recruitment Company is searching a BESS Engineer to work in a European IPP to support the storage projects in Italy.

The vacancy is based in Milan.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of the Permitting and EPC storage projects
• Establish system architecture, identify critical components, and enhance battery performance to support grid stability, frequency control, and energy trading.
• Manage the selection of battery technologies, oversee system integration, and lead validation efforts to ensure compliance with safety and performance benchmarks.
• Draft and review technical documents, including detailed system schematics and specifications.
• Support the sales teams in setting up communication frameworks with Distribution System Operators (DSOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) for service delivery.
• Supervision of the commissioning process and supporting the budget planning (Capex and Opex).
• Support the evaluation of project risks and contribute to refining technical strategies for optimal outcomes.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams—such as project management, procurement, construction, and operations—to drive smooth and efficient project delivery.
• Offer guidance and technical expertise to junior engineers and team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience with utility-scale BESS projects.
• Broad knowledge, skills and experience of large-scale projects.
• Professional Experience with CAD software.
• Fluency in English
