Overview

Regulatory Ecotoxicologist role at ERM in Europe. ERM offers chemical regulatory consulting services including data gap analysis, study monitoring, risk assessment, dossier preparation and post-submission support for agrochemicals, biocides and REACH. The role supports clients in navigating EU regulatory requirements and collaborates with a dedicated ecotoxicology team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide a high quality consultancy service in ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment to clients and ERM staff to meet regulatory and business needs
  • Understand clients’ desired outcomes and ensure deliverables meet quality standards
  • Work with clients, represent ERM in meetings, and respond to ecotoxicology-related questions
  • Contribute to business development through client visits, conferences and expert groups relevant to the area
  • Evaluate and summarize ecotoxicology data, ecological risk assessments and study monitoring with a focus on REACH
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment
  • Collaborate with other ERM experts to maintain project awareness
  • Define actions, allocate resources, and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Develop expertise in new EU regulatory developments
  • Support the personal development of other team members
  • Undertake other scientific and administrative tasks as needed

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Biology, Ecotoxicology or related field
  • Proven experience in conducting ecotoxicological risk assessments
  • Ability to design and conduct ecotoxicology studies
  • Strong knowledge of EU regulations and guidelines, including data requirements for ecotoxicology under REACH
  • Experience communicating with EU regulatory bodies and participating in expert meetings with clients
  • Collaborative and cross-disciplinary work style
  • Experience with dossier preparation and support using IUCLID and CHESAR for REACH submissions
  • Commitment to delivering high quality work and safety
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in ecotox statistical analysis software is preferable
  • Experience with non-EU regulatory requirements is an asset
  • Interpersonal skills for effective teamwork
