The Corporate Credit Risk unit at BBVA Milano is an integral part of the Global Risk Management – EMEA team. Its main function is to deliver best-in-class credit analysis of corporate clients, monitoring the local portfolio and ensuring the safety and soundness of wholesale lending through risk policy management.

About the role

As a Corporate Credit Risk Associate you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing the credit and financial strength of BBVA’s clients by performing fundamental credit analysis of counterparties, using both quantitative and qualitative factors.
  • Preparation, submission for approval and presentation at relevant Credit Committees of Financial Programs through relevant discretion processes.
  • Approving utilization of sanctioned limits within discretion.
  • Ensuring the establishment and effectiveness of credit policies and risk limits as well as compliance with risk appetite.
  • Supporting and providing guidance to other units within BBVA.

What are we looking for?

Previous experience and technical knowledge:

  • BA/BSc Finance or Business Management or any other related subject.
  • Demonstrable financial services experience of at least 4 years, including credit experience in Banking, Consulting, Credit Risk Management, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Credit Processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including understanding of key financial components (liquidity position, leverage profile, etc.) and the ability to form independent opinions on credit, recognizing emerging risks.
  • Solid Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills.
  • Understanding of banking products and sustainability issues.

Languages

  • Spanish and English: fluent.
  • Italian is highly valuable.

  • Strong inter-personal and verbal communication skills. Should be at ease in communicating with internal and external stakeholders within risk management and other divisions.
  • Strong organization and time management skills. Able to work under time pressure.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
