Self-Electronics is a specialist in the design and production of innovative commercial LED lighting for the global retail market. With a focus on the latest developments in technology and materials, we offer LED lighting solutions for various applications, including cooler lighting, linear lighting, showcase lighting, trunk lighting, track lighting, and recessed lighting. Our headquarters are based in Ningbo, China, and we have a professional R&D team, an advanced testing laboratory center, and production space of 58,000m2. We are well known within the lighting industry as a contributor to national standards for LED lighting fixtures and a holder of VDE TDAP and UL CTDP certificates.

Self-Electronics is looking for a Business Development Manager Italy (BDM).

The BDM will directly report to the Country Manager of Italy and will identify new business opportunities to generate revenue, improve profitability and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify potential key clients and the decision makers within the client organization
  • Generate leads and contact cold calling prospective customers
  • Nurture and develop relationships with key customer accounts
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
  • Understand the customers’ needs to respond effectively to their requests
  • Prepare presentations and write reports
  • Negotiate pricing with clients in line with internal guidelines
  • Make sales projections and forecast revenue
  • Manage stock effectively
  • Meet all reporting deadlines with accuracy (e.g., call reporting, pipeline reporting, etc.)

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in the lighting or shopfitting for the retail market
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and open‑minded personality
  • Willing to learn and follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Fluency in Italian and English; other European languages is a plus
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
