On behalf of a client company operating in the space field, we are looking for an AIT Manager for the Milan Office. The ideal candidate will be the focal point for all AIT activities related to a specific project.
Responsibilities
Coordinate all AIT resources allocated to the project.
Have knowledge and practical experience with mechanics, physics, basic electrical and functional principles of a satellite.
Report to the Head of the AIT Department.
Work and coordinate the work.
Participate in all project phases since the proposal one.
Prepare and maintain the AIT Plan and the AIT Flow.
Create the AIT Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the relevant Work Packaging Documents (WPD) as input for the Project WBS/WPD.
Evaluate labor and non‑labor costs for all AIT activities from project start to completion.
Maintain and manage the AIT schedule.
Coordinate all resources executing AIT activities, even if they do not belong to the AIT Department.
Establish and implement shift plans for nominal and critical activities, including campaigns.
Monitor progress, prepare cost reports and update ETC/EAC values.
Prepare and lead daily meetings when applicable.
Ensure quality rules are applied and implement corrective actions if necessary.
Plan and monitor preparation of AIT documentation (Procedures, dashboards, setup design, as‑run procedures, IRR, TRR, PTR).
Provide input to the risk register.
Verify availability of inputs required for AIT jobs (tests, configuration requirements, system schedule, user manuals, etc.).
Coordinate technical aspects of test facilities procurement and support commercial aspects.
Prepare, participate in and lead EVT and launch campaigns when envisaged.
Participate or coordinate AIT participation to IRR, TRR, PTR, NRB, progress meetings and other project reviews.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or comparable in Aerospace Engineering or similar.
Professional experience of at least five years in the domain of AIT.
Ability to coordinate resources and organize work in single or double shifts.
Good interpersonal skills internally and externally with customers.
Confidence with space business documentation (satellite payload equipment user manuals, architecture, design and test requirements, procedures, assembly drawings, etc.).
Understanding of issues, identification of root causes, definition of solutions.
Good reporting capabilities and easy communication to management and resources under coordination.
Availability to execute work also in long‑term missions, as per environmental or launch campaigns.
Availability to work multiple shifts or on weekends and bank holidays to meet project milestones.
Knowledge of quality principles applicable to space business, inside and outside a clean room.
Capability to endorse lessons learned and implement them in future activities.
Proficiency in MS Office tools, including MS Project, and possibly other project control tools; use of CAD viewer software.
