We are seeking a Head of Operations — a strategic leader who will own the end‑to‑end operational delivery for the Italian market and ensure that every interaction with Swiss Re reflects our commitment to precision, transparency, and reliability.

This is a pivotal country leadership role, where underwriting, claims, distribution, finance and compliance converge. You will lead and develop the Italian Operations team and orchestrate services delivered from our global hubs, ensuring seamless execution across underwriting support, cash collection, technical accounting and claims operations.

Key Mandate

• Lead with purpose – Shape how Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is experienced by clients and brokers in Italy, driving consistent, high-quality service delivery within agreed SLAs.
• Own performance – Ensure operational excellence through data‑driven management, disciplined execution, and robust control frameworks.
• Bridge strategy and execution – Partner with Underwriting, Claims, Distribution, Finance, Compliance and Technology to translate strategy into measurable operational outcomes.
• Safeguard trust – Oversee operational risk management, audits, and quarterly control assessments for the Operations function.
• Ensure compliance and rigor – Manage activities related to public tender participation and IVASS regulatory reporting, ensuring adherence, accuracy, and transparency.
• Represent the market – Anchor Italy’s voice in global forums and continuously elevate the service experience for clients and brokers.

Leadership Profile

We are looking for a seasoned, outcome‑driven operations leader with a strong ability to navigate complexity and lead through change. You combine analytical depth with people empathy and thrive in a matrixed, multicultural environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of end‑to‑end operations leadership experience in corporate insurance or broking.
• Deep knowledge of technical accounting, international program servicing, and operational governance.
• A proven record of leading teams through transformation and continuous improvement.
• Passion for talent development and building empowered, high‑performing teams.
• Fluency in Italian and English; Lean, Business Process Management or Six Sigma certification is an advantage.

For Italy, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 66,000 and EUR 110,000 (for a full‑time role). The specific salary offered considers:

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, speciality, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance‑based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
