We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement of USAREUR-AF and their Mission Partners mission objectives.
CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed Cryptological and Communications Security (COMSEC) Specialist, Journeyman. This position is in support of EMITS 2 of USAREUR-AF and their Mission Partner SETAF-AF, located in Vicenza, Italy. This position is required to travel OCONUS. This position is located OCONUS.
Responsibilities
- Supports cryptological and Communications Security (COMSEC) services and equipment lifecycle support
- Possesses and applies practical knowledge regarding Army and NSA COMSEC requirements (e.g., AR 190-51, AR 380-40, 710-2, and AE Regulation 380-40)
- Ensures Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCIs) are handled, safeguarded, and controlled IAW Army and Army in Europe requirements
- Manages, safeguards, and maintains accountability of key materials and devices, including hand-receipt, transport, storing, and the eventual destruction of COMSEC materials
- Manages NSA Type 1 encryption devices and other NSA-approved encryption devices
- Safeguards, hand-receipts, transports, stores, inventories, and destroys COMSEC keys IAW Army regulations
- Performs physical protective requirements and employs mandated COMSEC procedures IAW Army regulations
- Performs and records shift-to-shift inventories for COMSEC-related encryption keys, ensuring 100% inventory prior to shift change and notifies the CAM of any loss of COMSEC materials and discrepancies in the inventory
- Assists in developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for COMSEC releases
- Possesses and applies practical knowledge on multiple work assignments
- Possesses practical domain and technical knowledge
- Works autonomously with limited supervision
Qualifications
- Required: Possess a Secret clearance with the ability to retain.
- Experience: 4-7 years with a BA/BS in related field preferred or equivalent experience considered.
- Approved DoD 8140 cyber-related certification
- Demonstrates expertise in handling, safeguarding, and controlling CCIs and COMSEC materials throughout their lifecycle.
- Preferably, extensive knowledge of Army and NSA COMSEC requirements, including relevant regulations and procedures, and proficiency in managing NSA Type 1 encryption devices and implementing physical protective requirements.
- Strong attention to detail for inventory management, including transport, storage, shift-to-shift accountability, and proper destruction of sensitive materials.
- Ability to work autonomously, perform precise inventories, and promptly notify discrepancies.
- Combines practical domain knowledge with technical skills to support the full lifecycle of cryptological and communications security services and equipment.
- Desired: GSEC

Pay Range
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies.
