Senior Strategic Buyer

We are looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across indirect categories within the Generali group, in particular related to Professional Services and BPO, and contribute to defined saving targets
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and compliance standards, identifying cost reduction and optimization levers
• Manage supplier relationships, including negotiation, performance evaluation, and risk mitigation
• Establish effective communication with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, HR, Operations, etc) to collect project needs and align with them during the negotiation process
• Drive cost optimization and value creation through market intelligence and benchmarking
• Support contract management and ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures
• Monitor procurement KPIs and prepare regular reporting for senior stakeholders
• Develop effective presentations to explain sourcing strategies and Procurement achievements

Requirements

Education & Experience

• University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably in an international environment
• Experience in Consulting is a plus

Languages

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Fluent in German (written and spoken) at least B2
• Other European Languages are a plus

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management
• Proficient in procurement platforms (eg Ivalua)
• Familiarity with risk assessment and compliance frameworks
