Project Manager Sales

Based in Italy, SMS group S.p.A. employs over 500 staff across Tarcento (Udine), San Donato Milanese (Milan), and Genoa. The company specializes in producing innovative, turnkey plants, including hot and cold rolling mills, process lines, reheating furnaces, heat treatment lines, mills for long products, meltshops, and continuous casting machines.

We are seeking a

Project Manager Sales SIE HANDELN

• Represent SMS group to customers and internally manage project relationships;
• Conduct regular project discussions and negotiations with customers and consortium members, documenting outcomes;
• Hold core team meetings and record results;
• Act as the "entrepreneur inside the company" for the overall sales project;
• Understand project goals, requirements, and bid budget;
• Develop project strategy (Winning Strategy) with the Core Sales Team and Project Owner Sales;
• Manage the Core Sales Team;
• Allocate the project budget (Bid Budget) within authorized limits;
• Implement target costing based on project financials;
• Negotiate as the official contact for technical and commercial matters, working closely with the Commercial and Technical Managers Sales until contract signing;
• Lead project meetings, including risk assessments as needed;
• Travel within company travel guidelines;
• Request and manage all project-related data and information;
• Possess written power of attorney for contract negotiations, legally binding when signed by authorized representatives.

Required Knowledge

• Graduate or Bachelor/Master in Mechanical Engineering or similar;
• 3-4 years of experience in technical sales for complex plant manufacturing;
• Experience in analyzing customer requests and preparing technical offers;
• Commercial skills for identifying competitive solutions and manufacturing strategies;
• Strong knowledge of mechanical technical drawings; basic knowledge of media systems, electrical, and automation packages;
• Coordination skills to lead proposal teams;
• Willingness to travel globally;
• Fluent in English; German is a plus;
• Proficient in Office Suite (including Project) and basic SAP knowledge;
• Drawing tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo) are a plus but not required.
