ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Designer to support our partner in the automation sector based in Como.

What you will do:

• Perform and lead CAD design, engineering computer simulations, and mechanical engineering related lab experiments in support of design validation and reliability goals
• Bring a strong technical expertise during design reviews and problem‑solving activities
• Deploy state‑of‑the‑art mechanical engineering development practices
• Follow and drive improvement of best practices and tools to improve team efficiency, effectiveness, and mechanical subsystem quality
• Use outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to execute efficient interfaces with third‑party engineering partners and suppliers

What you need to have:

• Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in various mechanical engineering research and development roles within an industrial environment is required
• Experience designing industrial products from concept through production is required
• Experience in a mechanical workshop is required
• Very good knowledge of materials requirements is required
• Knowledge of marking and coding equipment is a plus, but not required
• Proven experience in CAD design (Creo Direct/Windchill is a plus)
• Thermal/flow/pneumatics/electro‑mechanical testing is a plus as well as FEA/CFD analysis
• Experience working with SAP, nice to have
• Excellent Italian and English language skills are a must
