Overview

This role works as a Diagnostics Engineer (Condition Monitoring) reviewing and reporting on client data, providing corrective actions and recommendations remotely for UK contracts and onsite support for contracts in Italy.

Responsibilities

  • Technical analysis and reporting of machinery data (including vibration data)
  • Peer reviewing technical reports and documents
  • Work effectively as part of a team to deliver CM contract requirements to a high standard
  • Occasional site visits within the Italy region to perform routine and ad‑hoc additional testing, including offshore
  • Work independently and confidently
  • Customer engagement and consultation with office‑based support team and site personnel
  • Italian national, fluent in English essential for this role

Key Skills and Experience

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • English language proficiency
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in vibration analysis for condition monitoring of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors)
  • Vibration Analysis ISO 18436‑2 Category 2
  • Good level of communication and reporting
  • Lubrication Analysis ISO 18436‑4 Category 2, or equivalent specialist skills
  • Vibration Analysis ISO 18436‑2 Category 3
  • Experience with client CMMS systems, like SAP and Maximo
  • Use of various hardware/software, preferably Emerson 2140/AMS
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Key Individual Accountabilities

  • Conduct analysis of routine condition monitoring data, including vibration and other techniques
  • Report Condition Monitoring analysis results and associated corrective actions/recommendations
  • Conduct specialist vibration analysis and equipment troubleshooting (e.g., Balancing, Orbit Analysis, etc.)
  • Mentor clients in basic Condition Monitoring techniques
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of condition monitoring programmes through defined review processes in conjunction with the contract service delivery manager
  • Demonstrate the benefit of carrying out recommendations using a defined process
  • Work within the requirements of the John Crane Integrated Management System (IMS)
