We are now looking for a new Intellectual Property Manager to join our dynamic legal team in Bologna or Tognana, Italy!

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate IP activities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Plan, administer, and maintain IP training and incentive programs to foster a culture of innovation at Vertiv.
  • Work directly with inventors to develop ideas into viable invention disclosures.
  • Draft, prepare, and file patent applications with the Indian Patent Office and coordinate with outside counsel regarding foreign filings.
  • Review and draft responses to office actions for domestic and foreign filings.
  • Provide guidance to outside counsel on prosecution, international filings, continuations, abandonments, etc.
  • Oversee budgets and track spending related to patents, including annuities and law firm payments.
  • Prepare reports on patent metrics and KPIs.

Qualifications

  • BE / ME / MTech or equivalent from a reputed institute with at least 5 years of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and search.
  • Experience working with an in-house IP team is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills suitable for client interactions.
  • Proficiency in patent databases such as Innography, Derwent, Questel, etc.
  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of procedures in the MPEP and basic patent filing regulations in foreign countries.
  • Ability to review, analyze, and communicate patent scope effectively to stakeholders.
