HSSE Manager

Location :

Project-based (Onshore & Offshore)

Freelance / Project-based

We are supporting a leading international oil & gas project organisation in the appointment of an experienced HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental performance across complex EPCIC offshore projects.

This role plays a critical part in driving zero-harm culture, regulatory compliance, and best-in‑class HSE performance from engineering and fabrication through offshore installation, commissioning, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain the Project HSE Management System in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and international standards

Integrate HSE requirements across all EPCIC phases

Lead HAZID, HAZOP, JSA, risk assessments, and SIMOPS reviews

Establish and control Permit to Work (PTW) systems, including confined space, hot work, and lifting operations

Oversee incident prevention, investigation, and root cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions are implemented

Coordinate emergency response planning, drills, and offshore medevac procedures

Conduct HSE audits, inspections, and KPI monitoring (TRIR, LTIFR, environmental metrics)

Deliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks, and safety campaigns

Ensure environmental compliance including waste management, spill prevention, and hazardous materials control

Maintain accurate HSE documentation and produce regular reports for project leadership and clients

Required Experience & Qualifications

BSc in Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited university

15+ years’ experience post‑graduation in HSE within oil & gas projects

Minimum 5 years offshore experience, with 3–5 recent years on offshore projects

Strong working knowledge of international HSE regulations and offshore safety practices

Excellent written and spoken English, with strong reporting capability

Proven ability to lead HSE across multi‑site, multi‑cultural environments
